Description

Tim Cope and Chris Hatherly spent 14 months cycling recumbent bicycles from Moscow to Beijing across Siberia....frostbitten toes, vodka, and hospitality were just some of the things they encountered along the way living their dream.

Wow! What a fantastic journey, and the video is beautifully done. I hope you have lots more footage for the film.

In 1982, I did the trans-Siberian rail journey from Nahodkha (sp?), near Vladivostok, to Moscow. Vladivostok was closed to tourists at that time because it was of major militiary significance being a naval port.

Tourists weren't allowed to photograph anything that had infra-structure in the background eg. railway carriages, bridges, power lines, culverts etc. Everytime I tried to take a photo there was an objection from the guide so I gave up and have no photos of my journey. How times have changed - isn't it great?

Thanks so much for bringing back those memores for me. And, yes, the people of these areas were lovely to us.
